How do we get Saved According to the Bible? I know that this question may seem simple, and in a way it is. But we are going to go through what the Bible says about being saved.
So I am going let’s read John 3:16. It says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (ESV). So there is a chance that if you grew up in church, and even if you didn’t, that you heard this verse. But it truly is an amazing verse because it shows the message of salvation. This chapter is a conversation between Jesus and a religious leader named Nicodemus. So Jesus is talking with Nicodemus, and he is talking about heaven. Jesus says that you have to be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven. And Nicodemus asks what being born again means. And Jesus answers that you must be born of the water, which verse six shows is the natural birth, and he says that you have to be born of the spirit. Which, you guessed it, means receiving the Holy Spirit. Now how do you receive the Holy Spirit. All you have to do to receive the Holy Spirit is believe as it says in John 7:39 which says “Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” It says that all you have to do is believe to receive the Holy Spirit, and this is also stated in many other verses.
So that brings us to the final question. How are we Saved? In Romans 10:9 it says “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” In this verse and in dozens and dozens of other verses it says that all you have to do, to be saved is believe. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says that “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” It isn’t by our own doing that we are saved, and it isn’t by our works, but it is only by Jesus and by us believing.
